(For “Kicked Out!”, go down to yesterday’s entry.)
The point, is to just *notice*. That’s what we mean when we say “listen”. Notice something, just pick out one little thing from around you, and see if you can trace it back to the Boss. For example, the beautiful nativity scene on the coffee table you trace back through the people who made them, to the Person who made the people. But that rain outside can be ‘traced’ more directly.
And we’re not *necessarily* looking for any Big, Deep Meaning here. Like… it may be raining cats & dogs, but at least it’s not raining mice (?) (I’ve decided to use mice for mood icons, so that’s enough of those for me! The kitten icons were kinda puky.)
Anyway, Meaning will jump out at some, and not at others. (If you sneak up on it, it tends to make *you* jump!) Most times it’s just the time to stop and notice, a “moment of pause” that’s needed.
“I look up at your macro-skies, dark and enormous,
your handmade sky-jewelry, Moon and stars mounted in their settings.
Then I look at my micro-self and wonder…” (from Psalm 8, MSG)
