Looking at the same tree as yesterday (and the same weather-picture, btw), we have another blob-situation (see the post entitled “The North”). These blobs are very familiar: pine cones. They’re small pine cones, but my question is: why are they only at the top of the tree? There’s about 14 of them, from where I sit.
The other interesting thing about this tree, is that for the first several years of its life, it pointed up at a crooked angle. This was partly because of being planted on a slight hill, and probably also because it was just planted crookedly. But even though it started life at wrong angles, it eventually grew straight—drawn up towards the sun.
