Summer Day

“Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we’re a free people–free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free!” (Eph 1:7)

Not just barely free–abundantly free!  Yes!!

Something like it was yesterday, with the back door open, and me free to go in and out at will.  And:  *all* the windows were open *all* night!  (Hence, we were awoken this morning by all the chirping birds.  They seem to think the sun won’t rise unless they help it!) The temperature got up to 28 celsius (about 85 F) yesterday, and even now is 12 already!  The sun is hazy this morning, but it promises to be a similar day today.  This is *way* ahead of schedule!  Who’s complaining?

Here’s a view The Mom enjoyed (lying on her back looking up), though she forgets that she wasn’t busy-busy continuously *all* day (we like that word today!)

You can see how the leaves on the bottom branches of our Linden have started to come out, while the upper ones are still “bursting buds”; the neighbours’ maples are covered in leaves, but they are baby-soft and don’t rustle as yet.  Soon!

Thank you God, for free Summer Days in Your presence.  Help us to remember the summer when the winter comes!
