routine & intimacy

With the new season coming, we’ve started into reading some of the prophets.  Jonah is such a fun story!  Think of all those ship’s crew-men who came to worship God because of Jonah’s disobedience!  Of course, they would have had some similar chance, without having to go the route of disobedience. ;)

Do you often remember to pray about your every-day, routine things?  There are the two sides to that question:  some people believe in praying about every tiny detail, but others say you can have faith that God is leading you without being asked for it each time.  As always, extremes can go either way.  But The Mom prayed a lot about her day yesterday (even though she came back to that list of irritations to add, a couple of times), and she’s amazed at how much she got done!  (menu, shopping, made new yogurt, made supper, had a shower & put the laundry away)  And she was delighted with new ideas for organizing the menu.  Have you ever thought of God as a chef?

Now to segue… here’s some spiritual food for you:

“Don’t grieve God. Don’t break his heart. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don’t take such a gift for granted.” (Ephesians 4:30)
