pain is gain

You know, it’s so neat to see God working & answering prayer in our friends’ situations.  Honestly, we’ve only been here since last Christmas, and have seen a couple of happy-ending stories, that had hit some pretty despairing times before coming to that “happy ending”.  It’s an encouragement for others who are still waiting for theirs… and inspires faith to pray.  (And our friends list is small, at that.)

Of course, one must remember that the “happy ending” is not always what one envisions at first, and the real “happy ending” is just to be able to be “content in whatever situation”, as Paul says.  For example, our Boy (he’s almost 20, btw), will have to struggle for quite awhile yet, with his diet restrictions, etc.  But struggle can be good, as they say “don’t waste the pain”.  It can indurate you (sometimes we do feel kind of silly, using a word we’re not used to!) and prepare you for some special calling.  If it brings you closer to God, it has truly morphed from struggle to wonderful blessing.

“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow.  God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” Matthew 6:34
