morning devos (Samuel again)

OLD TESTAMENT LESSON:
Do you know what’s neat about the story of the boy Samuel and the old priest Eli?  Remember:  God kept calling “Samuel, Samuel”, and he’d get up thinking Eli was calling him; until finally Eli told him to go back to bed, that it was God wanting to talk to him.  The neat thing is that “This all happened before Samuel knew God for himself.” (1 Sam. 3:7)  God talks to people before they even know Him!

NEW TESTAMENT LESSON:
May we be as singleminded as Paul, and “teach in a spirit of profound common sense so that we can bring each person to maturity.  To be mature is basic.  Christ!  No more, no less.  That’s what I’m working so hard at day after day, year after year, doing my best with the energy God so generously gives me.” (Col. 1:28, 29)

We’ll be singing Hallelujah…
Hallelujah!
At the top of our lungs:  Hallelujah!
To Your glory, hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah.
