When they think it’s time you had a new computer, you don’t have a say–you don’t even get to say what kind of computer, since they’re the experts and they know best! Never mind that the one you have is not even 4 years old yet, and that you’re quite happy with it. “It’s going to break soon and suddenly, better to get it now…” Never mind that you’ll have to learn a whole new way of doing things. “You’ll have one on one training–” yeah, but one still has to go there, maybe once a week for a year! Computer experts don’t seem to have any concept of housework, and managing diets, etc.
They do it sneakily, too: while you “just happen” to be at the Apple store, may as well “just look”–HA!! Did they buy anything else at the store? Oh, and the worst part? It’s white! WHY?! We could have gotten a black one–for $200 more! Stupid! We were so happy, those few short years ago, to see that our new laptop was black! (What do the manufacturers think–they’re the “good guys” or something? Virgin pure?)
So, whats the good part of all this? YOU TELL ME! Hmmmm…. Umm…. *think, think*………
Well…. they’re happy!
“If our minds are ruled by our desires, we will die. But if our minds are ruled by the Spirit, we will have life and peace.” (Romans 8:6 CEV)
Rule our minds, Lord.
Walk to Rivendell: We have now left the lane, and are following the hedgerows south.
