It’s minus 10 Celsius out there this morning (about 12 F), and the cardinal was STILL calling for his mate! He knows it’s supposed to be Spring, supposed to be warmer. Plus, there are all kinds of animals running around, teasing me–a squirrel came up to this window, and a big brown rabbit hopped onto our deck… it sure disappeared fast when it saw me! Just now, standing in a bright spot of sun, was a fat robin! Where does he get his worms, these days???
Well, it’s maple-syrup-weather: cold nights, warm days. Yesterday The Mom actually got hot on her walk, until she turned into the wind.
Not as hot as poor Job though, as he deals with his helpful friends, in our morning reading!
“A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” (Prov. 18:24, NIV)
But sometimes–“Somehow, though he moves right in front of me, I don’t see him; quietly but surely he’s active, and I miss it.” (Job 9:11)
Walk to Rivendell: We have to keep a stone’s throw left of the road now, which is slower going.
