Today’s view is certainly dark and gloomy! It would be enjoyable if you had nothing better to do than lie back and listen to the rain drops, and watch the branches waving…
Nevertheless, there are things to be cheerful about:
- The Mom’s back is pretty well completely better–just a small twinge left. Thank God for budding chiropractic doctors!
- Though it took a couple of weeks, we’ve made some progress on the diet issue: 1) Sam can now eat rice; 2) we now know that if anything is going to bother his body because of not being used to it, it only takes 24 hours.
Our verses this morning are kind of confirming of The Mom’s habit of “not getting into it”, when people (especially younger “people” in this house!) disagree with her:
“Refuse to get involved in inane discussions; they always end up in fights. God’s servant must not be argumentative, but a gentle listener and a teacher who keeps cool,” (2 Timothy 2: 23, 24)
Walk to Rivendell: Everything around here (the fields of The Marish) seems “quiet and peaceful, just like an ordinary corner of the Shire.”
