Babel pretense?

Another sunny day, and nothing but sun in the "forcastable" future!

And tonight is the Kickoff Rally for Club, so add to that sunshine–excitement.  A call last night informed us of a leader being "out" for awhile, with a broken ankle, but a solution is "brewing"… we’ll see what happens tonight.

Each year can be so different, with different kids, grown-up kids, different leaders, etc.  Awaiting this registration-night is almost like an upcoming birth, when you don’t know if it’s going to be a boy or a girl.  It may be slightly predictable, though; let’s see… 25 kids, 2 or 3 in grades 5 & 6 (1 boy, 2 girls), and 5 or 6 in each of the other age groups, except 2 in the very youngest (3-yr olds), and 2 or 3 brand new kids.  So.  Let’s see if we’re right!  (The BBQ often seems to have a lot of promise of new kids, but not so much result… this year it was bigger than ever, so let’s see if it can make our predictions wrong…)

A good verse we read this morning:  "God takes the wind out of Babel pretense, he shoots down the world’s power-schemes." (Ps. 33:10)

Walk to Rivendell:  As we start out on our 8th day, we’ve now travelled a total of 135 miles.
