my heart cries out, “glory!”

Our corner of the world is definitely filled with "glory":  sunshine, bright snow, and last night was another breathtaking Full Moon.  We got to see that, because Rej was again waking the Household with his coughing.  (Although he does say he feels better.)

Our Bible-in-a-Year readings have lately been in the prophets… judgement.  Mind you, there is also some wonderfully-bright spots of hope sprinkled in–promises of Messiah, etc.  We’ve picked out several neat quotes from the guide we’re using (EDWJ).

"–the Almighty is as great in mercy as He is in judgment… ‘the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.’ (Heb. 12:6)… He isn’t against us for our sin, but for us against our sin… God does not overlook sin; He ‘looks over’ it to focus His gaze, not on the sinner and his sins, but on the substitutionary sacrifice.  Forgiveness may be free, but it is never cheap." (emphasis ours)

Walk to Rivendell:  The hobbits are getting used to "much walking on short commons"–we should too, if we’re going to lose any weight!
