Old song, sad melody, comforting words,…

My song, for awhile. ;)… “Hold on!”

(By the Dustkickers, remember them?)

“Sittin’ on the front porch with my back turned t’ward the wind,
I’m lookin’ forward to the chance to see your smile again…

And as I sit and think about  the passing of these days,
The series of events on a stormy night, in the fire and rain,
when the wind blew out your flame!

Hold on, hold on!
The light upon the stand shines out for all to see!
Hold on, hold on!
That light illuminates the dark surrounding me.

Turnin’ through the pages of the life that I live here,
I’m struck by the mystery of lights that disappear.
Well the wind blows colder now, but the fire burns deep inside,
And I can see my way
On the stormy nights, in the fire and rain–
When the wind calls out your name!

Hold on, Hold on!
The light upon the stand shines out for all to see;
Hold on, hold on!
That light illuminates the dark surrounding me.

And in my dreams I still believe your light is there,
the wind has settled down and we’ve all taken care–
Then I awake to find reality’s cold stare,
But there’s a promise that the new day brings,
Song of hope that I can sing,
Because the hands that heal my wounds surround me in the night!

Hold on, hold on!
The light upon the stand shines out for all to see;
Hold on, hold on!
That light illuminates the dark surrounding me.

Hold, hold on…
That light upon the stand shines out for all to see!
And I hold on, hold on!
That light illuminates the dark surrounding me…

Sittin’ on the front porch with my back turned t’ward the wind
I’m lookin’ forward to the chance to see your smile again…”
