little personal glimpses

It’s amazing what personal-funny little things you come across over the week, when you’re actually looking for them. I noticed a couple. OK, they may not actually make you laugh, and maybe you had to have been there, but…

First one was a sudden squeeze from Rej, just in passing. One of those “I’m-gonna-squeeze the-life-outa-you” kind of teasing-hugs. I said, “Awww, do you need a hug? It’s not our anniversary, or birthdays…?” Sam was smiling in the background.

The other was when I sat down in my chair at 4:30 pm. My chair is right beside Sam’s. He heard me sit down and stopped rocking. I thought, “he’s wondering why I’m sitting down and not making supper…” Now Sam, kind as he is, would never even consider suggesting that I shouldn’t be sitting down when it was time to make his supper. Which is why I burst out laughing when he said, “What’s for supper?”

Little things, I know. The kind of things you tend to forget. But they won’t be forgotten now, will they!

“Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle. Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality.” (Romans 12:10-13)
