(Minus 17 today, but BLUE SKY!!! And the snow has been shrinking a little in spite of the cold, guess there’s been a little sunshine before this)
Speaking of tall, man-made things, and straight lines being strong, etc.: we have in our yard a tower. It’s for amateur radio, which is a hobby of many (including the two men in this house), but a hobby that practices for emergency situations: once a year the various clubs get together, usually in some field (it’s called “Field Day”), and pretend they have to work without hydro power. They work together to erect several radio towers of various sizes, and see how many contacts they can make within a certain time frame.
One of the best things about a tower, is that it draws your eye to the sky (height, again).
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech: night after night they display knowledge.” (Ps. 19:1 & 2)
There are so many words from The Boss’ Message, about towers; “The name of the Lord is a strong tower,” etc.
Thanks Boss, that in life’s emergencies big and small, You are a “tower of refuge and strength”!
