“Love him with all that’s in you, love him with all you’ve got.” (Deut. 6:5)
Say “Alleluia”. Say it. Either close your eyes and say it, or look at God’s creation and say it in your heart. There, doesn’t that feel better? You must, you need to worship. You see, if you sing of His mercies, it will “lead you through valleys of sorrow to rivers of joy”! (See “Music”.)
NOT that we’re feeling particularly sorrowful around here, that’s for sure. Two fluttery little things visited our close-view this morning: a yellow bird in a yellow tree (goldfinch in the Easter bush, which is actually losing its yellowness), and a female cardinal, its bright beak flashing in the slanting rays of the rising sun. The male cardinals sure make a lot of noise these days!
Switching topics again, another verse this morning about food (an extra-important item around here):
John 6:27: “Don’t waste your energy striving for perishable food like that. Work for the food that sticks with you, food that nourishes your lasting life, food the Son of Man provides. He and what he does are guaranteed by God the Father to last.”
Make you hungry?
