The Boy used to sing a song in the school choir: “The Storm is Passing Over… Hallelujah!” I guess that could be true as the flurry of activity in getting ready for a holiday finally culminates around here… but literally speaking it won’t be true until tonight, since it’s supposed to storm this afternoon. Much needed rain! In fact, it looked like it was coming this morning–everyone went directly out to the deck to enjoy the unusual early morning heat, while they could.
There was almost a “storm” last night, when it looked like none of our friends were writing for the day. Finally we realized that something wasn’t working right, and started clicking around until the flist page loaded correctly–then there was lots of reading to catch up on!
Here’s another good verse from today’s reading; a familiar one, but doesn’t it sound nice in The Message version?
“The husband provides leadership to his wife the way Christ does to his church, not by domineering but by cherishing.” (Ephesians 5:23)
