They came back a day early. The power went out the night before, I guess there was so much rain that some branches broke something… there was a huge bang at 4 am, and no more power. No more internet. No more computer. No more toast! So they went out for breakfast, came back, and still no power. Then they drove around, found a Walmart, and did some shopping. Came back to the trailer–still no power. So, since it was still raining, and there was only one more day, and they had a lot to do today–they decided to come home early.
I’ve been trying to cozen The Mom into thinking that she can still have fun today, (The Dad is off work, after all) but she says “no more vacation”! There are meetings and things this week, so she’s just as happy to get an early start on her work.
She actually meant not to do lj every day during her vacation, but it just happened that there were things to write about every day! Now that we’re back to “ordinary life”, we’ll have to actually try and think of something each morning. Using the “word of the day” is a start. Of course, there’s so often a really good verse(s) to share. Like this morning, for instance. These ones The Mom is using as a “claim”… no further explanation necessary.
Col. 2:5 & 6: Although we do like our usual version, The Message: “I am delighted to hear of the careful and orderly ways you conduct your affairs, and impressed with the solid substance of your faith in Christ. My counsel for you is simple and straightforward:” etc., it’s actually the simplicity of the CEV we want to use this morning:
“Even though I am not with you, I keep thinking about you. I am glad to know that you are living as you should and that your faith in Christ is strong. You have accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord. Now keep on following him.” As simple as that!
