Gotta hurry up and get this done real fast, because we’re just so anxious to get working at those taxes… NOT!! Procrastination is the Name of the Game. Just one more coffee… or, one more POT of coffee.. !
Oh, and The Mom’s tooth is definitely a wee bit better, so we’ll see!
Chorus, hmmm… Those old choruses bring to mind sitting in the back of someone’s pickup truck with various friends and siblings (seatbelts weren’t such a "rage" in those days), singing away at the top of our lungs–any kid just starting in with whatever they wanted to sing, and getting the rest to join in. One of the favourites was "Do Lord, oh do Lord, oh do remember me…", a good ol’ clap & yell camp song, with several verses. Of course, each verse really consisted of just one line repeated, plus the closer: "Look away beyond–the Blue!", with some adding in "horizon".
"I took Jesus as my Saviour–you take Him too…"
"I’ve got a home in Glory Land that outshine’s the sun…"
That’s all the verses we can remember. Not really sure if they sang it because they were excited about what it said, or just because it was just so much fun to sing and clap to!
(PS–Oh, where they going to in that pickup? To church of course! They lived in the country, and someone would go ’round and pick up all the kids and take them in to the town. So it was a fun, highway drive in the open back there… not done in the winter of course!)
Walk to Rivendell: Continuing on, the land slopes south.
