Mmmmm!! Isn’t it amazing how a wonderful scent just transports you to… "there"–that place when you first smelled it, when love was young, life was full of dreams… it’s just hard to put it in words! The Mom found two small branches of lilac blooms, PLUS, her wild rose bush surprised her and is actually blooming this year!!
Sharon preached an excellent sermon yesterday on "Where is God in Suffering?" We’ll get to our notes on it, but today there’s the menu/grocery list to do, a potatoe salad to get ready for the Elders’ Supper tonight, and perhaps a "Food Day" to plan for tomorrow!
So for now, here’s a couple of quotes we came across this morning:
"Those who believe they believe in God but without passion in the heart, without anguish of mind, without uncertainty, without doubt, and even at times without despair, believe only in the idea of God, and not in God himself." I bet there’s an lj friend who knows already, who said that one, since it’s one of her favourite authors…. Madeleine L’Engle.
"What blessings thy free bounty gives
Let me not cast away;
For God is paid when man receives,
To enjoy is to obey."
(Alexander Pope)… And we thought this was a new idea! :)
