Look up from your computer. What do you see that you really like?
I love my lipstick-red Begonias, with the beautiful Maidenhair Fern right in front of it. Lovely! And my peppermint reminds me of the fun I’m having with Summer Harvest: I’ve already dried a couple of batches of the peppermint, and every day I cut a boquet or two of Lavender to hang upside down for drying. I’ve got lots of things to do with Lavender, but the peppermint? Well, I could make some more peppermint cream, which I use for putting on my feet before bed/after a shower, for when I run out of Mom’s jar.
Today’s Proverbs. Strangely enough, I prefer the defaulted NAS version rather than my usual Message:
“My son, if you will receive my words And treasure my commandments within you, Make your ear attentive to wisdom, Incline your heart to understanding; For if you cry for discernment, Lift your voice for understanding; If you seek her as silver And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will discern the fear of the LORD And discover the knowledge of God.” (Proverbs 2:1-5) That goes well with what I was saying yesterday!
And today’s study notes: Selwyn points out that life is a task, that we need to give ourselves to it with diligence, but it’s really difficult to accomplish sometimes, without God’s help. And Wisdom is personified in Proverbs to remind us that it is found in a Person.
