Even though “we’re” retired, it’s easy to know when it’s the weekend: everyone is there on Facebook. This morning they were all up early, not wanting to waste any of their day off I suppose.
I’m still working out my chair position here. Finally realizing that it was too close to the window to actually look out (there’s a lesson in that), I’ve pulled it away a bit. In fact, it’s much better to have it flexible: move close to the fireplace for 6 am winter mornings, then move back to watch the sun rise.
Of course I’ve just thought of a few things to say here, to give me an excuse to post at all; because I want to make note of some more verses, in 2 Peter this time. There’s a long list of qualities that we’re to “complement our basic faith” with–I’ll have to study those. Because then it says “With these qualities active and growing in your lives, no grass will grow under your feet, no day will pass without its reward as you mature in your experience of our Master Jesus. Without these qualities you can’t see what’s right before you…” (2 Peter 1:8-9 emphasis mine).
Yeah, perhaps I should list these qualities:
- good character
- spiritual understanding
- alert discipline
- passionate patience
- reverent wonder
- warm friendliness
- generous love
–“each dimension fitting into and developing the others.” (2 Peter 1:5-9)
