“It belongs to the nature of joy to communicate itself to others and to invite others to take part in the gifts we have received.” (Henri Nouwen) That’s what I do here, right? :) Today’s gift: snow!
Not the cold we’ve been having. Last night we finally decided it was too cold to go in the hot tub. It only went down to minus 25 C, but the wind chill was something else–and it was very windy yesterday. It’s so cold, there is a rim of hard ice on the inside of all our windows!
But today it’s supposed to snow, and not be as cold tonight. Which means tomorrow–I can go skiing!!! (Assuming our morning dentist appointment doesn’t kill us, haha!) I’ve been checking out all the cross-country ski trails around here, and there’s one only about 15 minutes away (Mooney’s Bay), where they have everything you need, including hot chocolate, for a mere sum of $3/day (actually, the hot chocolate is extra). For the first run I’ll go in the afternoon, but I’m VERY excited to try their lit trails some evening!! The excitement is even catching: Rej and Sam wish they could come, but one has a cold, and the other a sore foot. It doesn’t bother me at all to go alone, though. It’s not like I’m travelling a long distance for just myself. *happy*
“Make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.” (Philippians 2:2)
Lord, when our patience is tried today, remind us of the things that make us one. May we know joy in spite of the things that ail us.
